out of school care

We have Out of School Care in our all of our facilities. A healthy breakfast and tea are provided. A packed lunch with an ice pack enclosed must be brought to holiday sessions. All meal times are shared together as a large family with emphasis on helping to set and clear the tables, good manners and enjoying each others company. As with the Nursery/Pre School we pride ourselves on the true French meaning of La Maternelle - a homely place to be.

All sessions are structured in order to offer the children an exciting and stimulating leisure time with us, including both quiet and active periods. Each club has an elected Children’s Council to ensure full supervised participation from the children in the day to day running and organization of activities and snack rotas. The children are encouraged to share their ideas with the staff either through their Children’s Council or by means of a suggestion box. Termly newsletters are available for everyone to catch up on what is happening in each club.

Multi cultural aspects are promoted through all activities. Festivals from different cultures will be celebrated and covered as part of our topics and themes. Games, Indoor and Outdoor including Football, Cricket, Rugby, Rounders, Skipping, Tennis, Playstation 2, Nintendo Gamecube, Nintendo, Nintendo 64 & X Box.

We have a close partnership with the school, sharing and enjoying many of their facilities including full use of the playground and playing fields.

The children are prepared for integration into Primary School life with visits from the Head Teacher and staff into the Pre School and visits to the Primary School by the children.
